The palace’s construction started in 1914 and was completed after 7 years. According to history, before 1945, Bac Ha District was a semi-feudal society governed by Hoang Yen Chao over some ethnic groups. This unique architectural work has endured since then. In 1999, the mansion was recognized as a national relic. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction in Bac Ha, having retained its majestic appearance after more than 100 years of existence.

This palace had a particular architectural structure compared to other edifices in Vietnam at that time. It served as a place to stay for Hoang Yen Chao and his son Hoang A Tuong.
